New to the Juvederm line and from the creators of Botox™, Juvéderm® Volite is an innovative injectable treatment designed to improve skin quality for up to 9 months. Volite is not a dermal filler. It is a skin conditioning gel (hyaluronic acid). Treatment with hyaluronic acid, unlike typical dermal fillers, affects the condition and quality of the skin. Volite is the first injectable treatment that provides clinically proven dermal hydration for up to 9 months after a single treatment.

What is Juvederm Volite?

It is a hyaluronic acid (HA) based product that uses the unique patented VYCROSS® technology that Juvéderm products are famous for. The HA molecule occurs naturally in the body and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. Each syringe contains 13 ml of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA), with smaller molecules than other hydro-filling products. It allows for faster absorption.

Why is HA important for the skin?

As we age (as early as our mid-20s), HA levels decrease, causing our skin to lose elasticity and collagen. Volit treatments increase hydration and elasticity. They also stimulate the production of collagen, which helps smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles.

Treatment involves making several very superficial injections into the skin. Although it contains lidocaine, a topical numbing cream can also be used before treatment to improve comfort.

One treatment provides nine months of hydration and improvement of skin quality.

For which areas is the treatment suitable?

You can inject your choice into the face, neck, hands, and décolleté.

Is the procedure painful?

Although there are many superficial injections in this treatment, a local anesthetic is applied. The needle used is tiny (smaller than a botox needle). After the treatment, redness usually disappears within 30 to 90 minutes. Results will start to appear immediately and will be fully visible within the next ten days.

Is it a  dermal filler?

No. Juvederm Volite is a hyaluronic acid gel that does not change the shape of the face. Instead, Volite provides skin with hydration from within.

Side effects

Small raised areas may appear at the injection sites but usually disappear within 1-2 hours after treatment. Bruising, redness, and tenderness at the injection site are common but will disappear within a few days.

After treatment

Avoid drinking alcohol for 48 hours. You will need to avoid strenuous exercise for the same amount of time. Extreme temperatures such as sunbathing, UV radiation, and saunas should be avoided for two weeks after treatment.
