Treatment of penile curvature is a surgical procedure to correct the curvature of the penis. In congenital curvature of the penis, a problem is often found in the primary anatomical structure. When penile development is complete after puberty, curvature becomes evident. It causes difficulties during sexual intercourse.

The first problem that stands out in penile curvature that occurs in old age is penile curvature that develops due to Peyronie’s disease. It is the most common cause of penile curvature. It develops due to calcification between the blood vessel that provides the hardening and the outer shell. Pain in the initial period is also caused by Peyronie’s disease, often observed in men over 50. Diabetes is thought to trigger this condition.

Surgical applications are the mainstay in treating advanced Peyronie’s disease and congenital penile curvature. In the surgical treatment of penile curvature using a simple plication technique, sutures (plication stitches) are created on the penis to apply traction to the opposite side of the curvature and correct the curvature. In advanced cases, a graft obtained from the lower veins is integrated into the areas of the plaque formed in the penis.
