Bridges are a solution to replace one or more missing teeth. In this case, the secondary teeth adjacent to the missing tooth are ground, and impressions are made, based on which the dental technician produces a replacement, which is firmly cemented to the teeth with a modified surface.

A bridge is an artificial dental prosthesis anchored to adjacent teeth.

A dental bridge is designed according to the assessment of the position and length of the gaps, the number of holes in the jaw, and also according to the prognosis and stability of the remaining teeth needed for bridging and also how the bridging of the gaps should be carried out.

A bridge is used when a tooth/teeth is lost. If adjacent teeth are healthy and stable, they will be ground down to fit a bridge as an abutment. If there are several gaps, the position of the remaining teeth is assessed, and whether it will be possible to implement a bridge construction.

The fabrication of a dental bridge requires the preparation of the surface of the teeth that will hold the bridge. If the neighboring teeth do not exist as a potential pillar for the bridge, or their condition is not suitable for storing it, it is currently possible to replace these teeth with an implant that fulfills the supporting function of the bridge pillar.

Dental bridges are currently made of top-quality materials and look natural.

After grinding the teeth or introducing implants, an impression of the jaw is taken, according to which a specific dental situation is modeled. Then, bridges are made in a dental laboratory. The finished dental bridge must have a suitable form, color, and function for the patient.

Dental bridges on implants

Suppose several teeth are missing, or it is impossible to fix the dental bridge stably on the pillars of your teeth. In that case, using a dental implant instead of a bridge is recommended. It is not necessary to replace every missing tooth with an implant. Implants need to be inserted where necessary to fulfill the function of supporting pillars for the dental bridge. This procedure is suitable, e.g., during the total reconstruction of all teeth of the upper or lower jaw. When reconstructing the teeth of the entire jaw (implant-bridge), inserting 6 to 8 implants to which the dental bridge is attached is usually sufficient. After the implants have been inserted and time has passed for them to heal (growing into the bone), the dental technician makes a dental bridge.

Removable replacements

In cases where it is impossible to make a fixed dental replacement, it is necessary to make a removable replacement attached to the remaining teeth in different ways. In addition, it is essential to think about the stability of the prosthesis during use, comfort, and aesthetics.
